i played it (pirated) but haven't finished it because the gameplay wasn't to my liking.

it's a beautiful game, with a good story, great visual effects, great characters and insanely good aesthetics

but then the gameplay loop is so miserable, it feels more like a chore if anything.

i think the main reason might be because I'm not a big fan of turn based combat, it's sloppy, slow and not engaging. If only they made the game a souls-like, it'd have way bigger success.

Its looks amazing.
I have the same worry, I haven't been able to complete bg3 because my zoomer mind is too addled for turn based combat.

yeah, exactly my issue aswell

you can try it out, just don't buy it and pirate it instead - then there's practically 0 reason to not try it.
