Explain this behaviour of women : Act offended/jelous infront of my good looking friend

Have one only good looking friend in my circle
And when I am with him around women, I see them showing indicators of them being "offended" by his precense?

Like as if they put their defences up, like putting their fists on the hips etc...

Can it be so that instead of being attracted to him they are offended/jealous-threatened about his looks?

We know womne can be jeolous of other womens looks, but can they be jelous of other mens looks?

Best I can describe is he looks like dante form dmc (I know it's a fucking video game charcter but this is who looks like him the most)

He is around 6"-6"1
Normal build.

The women were varied, from 40s to 20s
