Ok this is super niche and i'm done gatekeeping. Basically what your going to do is attend meetings semi regularly and attend the competitions. Then when the end of the year interview happens, you are going to create something that is going to help the club but specific to your role. So for example, if your going for treasuer, you create a budget spreadsheet and show that to them during the interview. This is how I got leadership in 3 clubs freshman year without anyone knowing my name! You can also do this with internships, job interviews, and pretty much every extracurricular that you have to apply with. Just make 1 thing to help the club and showcase it in interviews. 99% of applicants are just focused on the interview speech, not the value you can bring.
