Say you eat beforehand and then just go to sleep after working out. Is that bad? I'm usually less hungry or have less food cravings post workout because I've already got the feel good chemicals going. I'm trying to keep the calories down to stay lean.

As a natural bodybuilder you should be aiming for 3-4 high quality protien meals a day. + 1 or 2 protien shakes. If your workout is at the very end of the night and you had your 5-6 meals + shakes for the day then you are fine not eating since you body is stored with nutrients to replenish your damaged muscles. But it still wouldnt hurt to eat something like low fat cottage cheese, which is very light in calories, tasty with some honey on top, and packed with slow acting casein protein to repair your muscles while you sleep. Remember growth happens at home during sleep. You breakdown muscle in the gym. Listen to your body, but if you are training with enough intensity after the workout you will be hypoglycemic and crave sugar/fruit

Thanks! That's very comprehensive. Think I'll get me some whey isolate or low fat cottage cheese because of rn I don't really have anything purely protein at home.

i would stick to a raw egg protein fruit smootie/shake (oldschool bodybuilding style) over ghey whey isolate powders sourced from who knows where, also ray peat has warned of the high tryptophan content in whey being alike to a carcinogen. best to stay away from whey protien it used to be a waste product before they realized they can sell it idiot bodybuilders. Real protein powder used to be made with milk and eggs but it is very expensive nowadays: https://nspnutrition.com/products/92-milk-egg-protein-powder

here is my recipe for my egg shake: https://looksmax.org/threads/redpill-24-eggs-a-day-diet-for-weightloss.756966/#post-11838892

Alright, I'll skip the goy replacement powders. Rn I'm having some meat with vegetables and some bearnaise sauce for taste (it's high calorie I know, but makes it sooo much more enjoyable). I also have a little bit of candy left and I'll probably slay that bag too because I'm naughty. Sorry but that's just how it is. If I start eating then I really want to eat until I'm satisfied.

The thing is that your sympathetic nervous system is ramped up after working out (or any other kind of stress or intense physical activity), which naturally suppresses your appetite and digestive efficiency. It's best to take a shower and wait until your nervous system has calmed down before you eat. Also add some gelatin to your post workout meal

Working out increases cortisol, so the Best option Is to consume high carbs and foids in general after workout and less foids and carbs before workout
