almost everyone confuses these 2: a face can be aesthetically pleasing while not being sexually attractive
When evaluating how 'attractive' a face is, one of the 4 pillars we consider is facial ratios.
Why are the given 'ideal' ratios actually attractive:
i) they are the average of the population
ii) they make groups of measurements follow a given geometric pattern, which matches the logarithmic nature of how our brain stores information
hence, both of these reasons make the face easy to process for the brain - the brain requires less resource to store the given face, and hence it is more 'pleasant'.
However, these ratios do not actually tell you anything about the health of the given individual, other than they did not suffer from any significant trauma which would cause wildly-off measurements; it has been shown that the 'ideal' population average ratios have essentially 0 correlations with any health.
A person can have perfect ratios and have a very aesthetically pleasing face, but not trigger any level of sexual attraction.
On the other hand, health indicators such as bone structure, skin quality and body fat percentage are clear indications of a good lifestyle and good genetics, and hence are far more attractive for potential mates. i.e. Dimorphism + Angularity, and some of misc.
Of course, having ideal bones does contribute in some sense to having ideal ratios, but the key here is that the 2 are not completely coupled; somebody can have a very aesthetically pleasing face while not being sexually attractive, and somebody can have relatively poor ratios while still being very sexually attractive.
When using this site, always remember what your goal is: do you want to be aesthetically pleasing or do you want to increase your sexual attractiveness - the 2 are not 100% coupled.
