Sleeping on your back is commonly known to minimize facial asymmetry. But there may be other factors to it…
I noticed that whenever I look in the mirror, I tend to focus on one side of my face more than the other without even realizing it. I subconsciously focus on my better side because one of the reasons I look in the mirror is for self-esteem maxing. Therefore, if I only look at my better side, then I get more self-esteem. All of this was unknown to me and occurred subconsciously until I randomly caught myself.
I’m sure many other people make that same mistake subconsciously and it is hurting their weaker side. Whenever, you look in the mirror, you adjust your face to look better (mewing, check sucking, hyoid angling, etc.); if you only look at your strong side, you will adjust your strong side disproportionately relative to your weaker side which polarize the asymmetry even further.
In conclusion, just make sure that when you look in the mirror you are equally paying attention to both sides of your face.
I’m curious if anyone else used to or still does make this mistake.
