Haven't been significantly active lately, luckily life has been getting me busy, so for better or for worse I haven't been checking this place as much, however I made a recent breakthrough that MAY help some people if you have the same problem as me, so I felt compelled to share it.

I kinda yap too much, so just read the TLDR, I guess.

For the longest time I thought I had an orbital floor asymmetry, and I thought that one of my eyes was actually sitting lower in my face, however whenever I tried to actually measure it I came with mixed results, in some photos it looked like my eyes were uneven, in others they didn't look uneven, in orders I couldn't tell if it was just soft tissue around my eye area playing tricks on me, but I think I finally figured it out.

Looking at a video of me showing my back, I noticed an asymmetry in my scapula, one of my shoulders was actually higher than the other, I guess I kinda knew that already, injured my shoulder a while back doing lateral raises (like 3 years ago), so whenever I lift it clicks a little and my bench press gets very uneven whenever I'm lifting over 80% 1RM. After this realization, I also started to know a few things, like how one of my traps was severely underdeveloped as well, and how this whole cascade of things (shoulder injury → uneven scapula → uneven shoulder position + uneven traps) actually was indirectly affecting my head posture, making my head tilted to one side ever so slightly, making it seem like my eyes were uneven. After doing some mobilization and targeted training for my scapula I started taking some photos at different angles and moments of the day these few days, and in none of them my face appears asymmetric anymore.

(this isn't me, but it's exactly what I had)

TL;DR - If you think your face is asymmetric, please look into your general body mechanics first, your face MAY be asymemetric, who knows, but it's worth checking out other options before considering surgery, like hydroxyapatite cement as I was. Correcting posture and body mechanics may be a slight softmaxx?

had this exact thing. i thought my left eye was lower than my right but it turned out it was just my neck & shoulder posture was shit

high iq .Most people aren't actually that asymmetrical.

Please note that not all facial asymmetry is due to posture or scapular imbalance. This was just my case, I just wanted to point it out if it just so happens that anyone is suffering from the same thing, or maybe the perception of an asymmetry that isn't even there, some asymmetries are really caused by congenital or developmental stuff, but being informed of potential alternatives is always good.

What exercises did you do?

I added this to my warm-up prior to lifting, aside from fixing the asymmetry honestly made me much stronger benching and stopped my clicking shoulder on lateral raises

Ignore the weights and reps

also just in case, I did them single arm and with cables. You can also do it with dumbbells (which I think are called Trap 3 Raises and Powell Raises), I also used to have scapular pull ups in the protocol but took them out

I do have clicking shoulder just like and yeah my left shoulder is significantly more lifted than my right and yes indeed my face is very assymetrical but would this truly fix my assymetries? I don't think it will but I will try to fix my body assymetry to the best of my ability

Some of your facial asymmetries can be caused by structural issues, I can't tell you for sure whether it's your musculature pulling your face in undesired ways and making you seem more asymmetrical, but it's probably playing a role. I'd advise you do go through with it, because even if it's not for your face, it will give you better gym performance and help you prevent the injury becoming worse once you need to exert effort in a potentially dangerous setting, you never know.

I have a terrible asymmetry as part of my subhuman face. Its been there since birth because I notice it in all photos of myself through to the most recent.

some asymmetries are really caused by congenital
That's mine. Severe asymmetries are a heavy failo to bare. Until I examined the photos, I was coping about having this asymmetry because I was sleeping wrong or some potent cope JFL.

Minor asymmetries can be overlooked and I believe the notion that they are endearing and humanising. But it is a fine ballance before your face tips into shit.

which expert do u need to see and what to ask him to check body asymmetries please? like a chiro or sum?

Chiros are not real doctors, ideally never see one unless you're actually desperate, the kind of doctor you should see for this kind of stuff is a physical therapist
