To clear myself, I don't mean to do some bluepilled 
shit or spew something like beauty lies in the eye of beholder. I conform to the psl rankings where biased hierarchies form socially based on facial attractiveness, height, frame, muscle, social skills, hobbies, miscell. like voice/smell/dick, intelligence, humor etc.
But, idk if you all know this ( and i cant gauge whether you know it cause I am relatively a grey), but what happens when a person is of the same tier let's say hltn. they have discrepancy facially but its obviously relatively same to the naked eye in everyday life. How is the better one among the two chosen, one can argue it can be based on the remaining metrics (like height, frame, muscle, social skills, hobbies, intelligence, humor, miscell. like voice/smell/dick etc) but I don't think that's the sole reason.
1. Maybe its impacted by the roles played by the leading male figures in the gal's family and how they looked facially or phenotypically. Another is the role of how similar they look to past crushes/dating partners and the similarity is often positively correlated with getting chosen as a partner but not guaranteed because of maybe due to a toxic or unsatisfying relationship.
2. Another factor is biasness to an attribute or even an entire archetype (like Edward Cullen from Twilight) that was associated positively to in fictions (and likely played well in the end of the story) usually seen in rom coms, female dark fantasy books, web novels, tv series/movies. And even at times music artists and other pop-influence and other types of shi.
3. Another potential deciding factor for women to choose between men across the same group/level in a horizontal plane is the women's own persona, her own attributes as well as hormones. For example, using an isolated trait, we generally see that if she's dominating/controlling its highly likely she will choose a neotenous/youthful person, but if shes submissive and passive she'll choose a dimorphic matured masculine guy and so on in this range.
4. Although two faces can have the same PSL rating, the final choice of a female also depends on how much striking of a single feature do you have or is it all average and cohesive. If you have a trait which is not average at all compared to a peer of same psl, then it can make (rare=better law eg blue eyes) or break you (not average= potential genetic instability).

SMV, maybe the culture values one face over the other but i dont think its a great reason for this case as this valuaion of a specific type of face is likely uniform across the entire region and hence will likely play out inside the psl scale to an extent disrupting the equal horizontal levels in terms of application

Most definitions of Appeal go against my observations of horizontal attractiveness as they talk about grooming or synergy and if they do touch into the terrain, they never elaborate.
