Factors that influence a Person’s final Height
Genetics -
They are inherited from your parents and influence your growth to the tune of 60% to 80% and therefore your parents’ height will influence the height you will reach.
Gender –
Males can keep growing at the latest age 20, beyond that cases of people growing are beyond that are few and far between.
Hormones –
HGH – in the pituitary gland within the brain and that is what drives your growth.
Testosterone - is one of the main drivers to your growth in puberty.
IGF-1 - a hormone similar in molecular structure to insulin which plays an important role in childhood growth, and has anabolic effects in adults.
Food -
Too much fat affects the release of HGH – so try to keep your fat consumption down
Eat foods rich in Proteins, calcium for bone strength, vitamins and mineral, phosphorous and magnesium, zinc for testosterone
Foods to stimulate the Pituitary Gland are:- Guava, turnip, carrots, spinach, grapes.
Avoid alcohol, trans fats, sugars, and limit your saturated fat intake to maximum 30 grams.
Sleep -
Get plenty of sleep – Around 8-10 hours is ideal for maximum HGH production during sleep
Water -
Drink a glass of water when you get up in the morning and 4 – 6 liters of water a day – it aids digestion and absorption of foods and vitamins.
Physical activity
Stimulates the gain of Testosterone & HGH. It stretches the body and strengthens the spine and legs and helps growth.
Posture
Stand tall and don’t slouch and maintain good posture and don’t crouch in bed - lie straight for it helps the spine. Also if you had pretty bad posture before hand this will increase your perceived height 1-2 inches.
