"One of the findings is that countries with high meat consumption present the so-called masculine digit ratio, while countries with plant-based diets – a feminine digit ratio."

"Participants born in the late-Autumn and who experienced long days in the 2nd and 3rd prenatal months had low 2D:4D."

"prenatal smoke exposure was associated with statistically significant increased anogenital index (AGI)"

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1721847/
"Fetal testosterone correlated positively with both fetal cortisol and maternal testosterone concentrations."

"Parental consanguinity appears to cause fetal masculinization of digit ratios by increasing fetal stress"

"As maternal physical activity increased, feminine mannerisms decreased and masculine mannerisms increased in the offspring, particularly for females. Maternal physical activity was also associated with increased upper- and lower-body strength and especially with adult height among offspring. Sexual activity by the mother was only associated with upper-body strength and adult height, particularly of the female offspring. Several sexually dimorphic physical traits in offspring are associated with maternal activity levels during pregnancy. Prenatal testosterone is almost certainly involved."

"Children of parents of above-average income had low 2D:4D (high prenatal testosterone, low prenatal oestrogen)"

"Concentrations of androstenedione, testosterone, and progesterone were notably higher in African-American compared with Caucasian or Hispanic women. These data are consistent with hypotheses that in utero hormonal exposures may explain some of the ethnic group differences in cancer risk."

Finger ratios are a bad metric to use as it’s been proven that there’s too much variability, look at Momoa, Ludgren, Tyson they all have bad index’s but are very high T. Only mothers umbilical cord or measuring during pregnancy can give accurate results.

When it comes to the mother's circulating levels of T and not the fetuses own production, BMI is most impactful. Obese women literally have multiple times the free testosterone that normal women do because SHBG is way down low and testosterone production much higher.

Here is a page that has other prenatal T variables
https://h2d4d.blogspot.com/2016/11/factors-influencing-prenatal.html

But can we have a conversation about this
Rspb20151351f02
Supposedly testosterone in umbilical cord has been linked to these facial morphological changes(unaesthetic ogre)
Whilst digit ratio which is supposedly a marker for testosterone exposure, sensitivity, or testosterone to estrogen ratio near end of first trimester produces mogger changes like this:
Figure 2 from Second to fourth digit ratio and face shape ...

Thoughts?

Why do some very high T men have high ratios and some low T looking men have low ratios ?? How does that work or are there far more complicated things going on ?

I've read that digit ratios alone, are questionable indicators of prenatal-T, I'm assuming digit ratios are influenced by a mix of prenatal-T, genetics, and maybe other factors.

I’ve read that it also depends on how your fingers grow and their orientation, some people have longer fingers but they insert differently. Too many variables. The best indicators I think are: having a good chin, browridge, FWHR, frame and wide jaw.

I noticed the inserts of my fingers and wondered if that was a factor, interesting.

Yeah I've done a lot of research on this before and it seems very complicated. The current studies out there simply do not go into much depth or have research objectives like this. African babies are exposed to the most testosterone but have the fullest lips and highest PFLs which contradicts both studies. Meanwhile asians have lowest prenatal testosterone and smallest eyes it doesn't make sense. Unfortunately the current studies on how androgens work on the body or why some areas are more impacted than others even differing from person to person just don't exist. I've combed the internet just for a study that proves or disproves prenatal testosterone effects on clavicle and hips and wrist circumference and couldn't find a single one

I think wrist and frame might be more due to puberty androgens and applying pressure to them, and large hips are due to you either converting too much estrogen or being obese, once again during puberty. I think androgens during puberty are much more important tbh, that’s why all these influencers who roid when 15,16 ect blow up and change completely.
