It happens. Quite normal through the adaption phase from an industrialized useless dude who eats cereals to a lion that eats mainly fatty meat.

Is it maintainable long term?
well 16/8 fasting is really easy to do,
just do some cardio and sauna here and there, you don't have to go for 5 mile runs everyday,
if you're someone who loves high carb foods then switching to low carb diet might not be the best for you, in that case i'd recommend picking the most satiating carb sources (e.g. potatoes, oranges, apples, popcorn rather than white bread, chocolate etc.)
