IIRC research shows that fasting is surprisingly muscle sparing.

Most people say no, purists say yes it does. Try and limit it if you do drink it, coffee does contain some small amount of calories.does coffee count as breaking a fast?
Great advice. 16:8 is best for starters. Then slowly work up to OMAD.Start with 18:6 and try and get down to OMAD.
@Seth Walsh
Yeah this is really interesting. I needa find out why this is the case. I've a feeling the muscle sparing properties come from FOXO1 and FOXO3 activation through autophagic pathways but that still contradicts the increased muscle wasting due to a more active ubiquitin proteasome system.Yeah sleeping counts as fasting.

Seems the FOXO proteins don't have muscle sparing properties, actually the opposite. I'll try figure it outGreat advice. 16:8 is best for starters. Then slowly work up to OMAD.

I've just been drinking water when I get cravingsIt might also help to like literally just lick some salt during the fasting period since salt has no calories it wont break the fast and it might help hunger cravings and is necessary for normal bodily functions.
