How important is fasting? For longevity and weight loss. What form of IF should I do?

Start with 18:6 and try and get down to OMAD.

Yeah sleeping counts as fasting.
IIRC research shows that fasting is surprisingly muscle sparing.

Most people say no, purists say yes it does. Try and limit it if you do drink it, coffee does contain some small amount of calories.

Water fasting is great. It allows your body to divert energy to other parts that need attention rather than being burdened with having to digest a meal every few hours.

Coffee does NOT break the fast if its black coffee

Great for weight loss, and after you enter ketogenesis (after the second day or so) your body hardly breaks down muscle from that point, it pulls almost exclusively from fat so water fasting is ideal for weight loss.

Hardest part is breaking the fast cause with me at least I wanna binge out on a like 10k calorie meal which would erase all the weight I just lost.

Great advice. 16:8 is best for starters. Then slowly work up to OMAD.

Yeah this is really interesting. I needa find out why this is the case. I've a feeling the muscle sparing properties come from FOXO1 and FOXO3 activation through autophagic pathways but that still contradicts the increased muscle wasting due to a more active ubiquitin proteasome system.

Seems the FOXO proteins don't have muscle sparing properties, actually the opposite. I'll try figure it out

It might also help to like literally just lick some salt during the fasting period since salt has no calories it wont break the fast and it might help hunger cravings and is necessary for normal bodily functions.

Don't fast during puberty.

unless you're 100% sure that you're done growing than go ahead.
I'm sure you're not worried about growing though, I've seen you say that you prematurely fused your growth plates.

Reminder that this shit website deleted my high-effort fasting guide (and the kike mods didn't even pin it)

Don't consume anything with artificial sweeteners even if it has 0 calories. This will create an insulin response, putting your body in a fed state.

Better yet just mix an electrolyte solution and sip on it
