Favipiravir This is a drug against coronavirus (let me remind you again that in this post we are considering the side effect and not the desired reward).
Its effectiveness against coronavirus is still unknown. But one of its side effects is lightening of the eyes within 24 hours. This is literally no joke.
Favipiravir does not affect pigmentation; it only makes the eyes blue or violet (sometimes indigo) for the duration of treatment.
To understand how it works, metabolites enter the tear film and then absorb ultraviolet or shortwave light. It is also especially visible in the light (when light hits the eyes)
Clinical report. An to a child boy was given Favipiravir, and within 24 hours his eyes turned purple. Literally (previously they looked black).
Another person in the study also reported a complete change in eye color, although the previous color returned after some time after discontinuing the drug Favipiravir.
The same glow from light occurs while taking Favipiravir + the nails also glow, as does the Favipiravir tablet itself.

Favipiravir changes eye color while taking it. But this drug is unique in its kind, making eyes a literally impossible color (this is a side effect, and I'll say it again, I don't recommend taking it).
To date, this is the most researched drug that literally changed eye color from black-brown to purple within 24 hours.
Regardless, Favipiravir does not inhibit tyrosinase, reduces melanin synthesis, destroys iris melanocytes.
All Favipiravir can do is provide a temporary side effect, one of the most unusual ones.
And this color is superimposed on its native one, without changing the real one.
