She didn't look both ways before walking across the road. She was also standing in the middle of the road, not walking across it.

The son was smarter, he was standing in the center of the road, waiting for the lane to be clear.

It's a tragedy what happened but if you're crossing the road at night you have to be very vigilant.

I've never been rich enough for a car and I'll wait sometimes ten minutes or more for the road to be perfectly clear. I never stop in the middle of the road and always hurry across it.

The police officer should have been paying more attention, but I'd rather not die, than die but have it "technically" be some one else's fault.

There was an Asian college girl that got hit and killed by a cop a couple years ago, it's definitely not a race issue.

Rich people and businessmen do that a lot with pedestrians. After they run them over and kill them, of course, the driver is innocent. Once a lawyer thought a jogger with a backpack was a homeless feller, so he ran him over. He died.
