they're only hated by other men due to our competitive nature at our age, we don't want the best-looking guy to steal the women so we're going to be aggressive towards the best-looking men

meanwhile, the "male gaze" is just an older, stronger, wiser man with status
this man is also attractive but he's respected by everybody due to his leadership capabilities and status
women aren't more likely to mate with him because he's usually older, out of his prime, and has health issues that could get in the way of childbirth
this is why women are looking for the "female gaze" aka the younger healthier men
the "male gaze" guy is still respected by everyone though no doubt

I don't think that's true. I think some men do, and some aren't necessarily doing it for women, and some just think it because they think that's what other people think. I think most women probably don't strive towards that, and most of those who do do it because that's what they're told to think, not because they actually think that's what's attractive. It's more of a fashion thing for women.
