Abusing a position of authority can create a situation in which the student could be pressured into sex in order to not be penalized (such as getting poor grades in the case of a teacher.)

Meanwhile, the men on the Chris Hansen show are just random strangers who are not in a position of authority over the teenager (well, the hypothetical teenager since it’s a sting), and therefore there is no coercion.

Society gets its backwards.
