Feminism will never take off in non-western countries as it's focused on mainly middle class white woman issues. It's lack of focus on young men is not an accident, it's a a feature in it's very system. To focus on the struggles of young men, is to acknowledge their peak and privilege. This would result in a net negative for the feminist movement. If we take the post-modernist stance of feminists that because society was created by men, it thus benefits men. We must then ask ourselves, who created feminism?
Was feminism created by women? If so, then it must benefit solely women and strives for female superiority - much like the patriarchy strives for male superiority. If the founder of feminism/the modern day feminist movement is created/led/it's principles based on the works a man, then feminism is a force which serves to benefit men - much like the patriarchy. The feminist movement thus is caught in a catch 22. Where it can in no way be a force created for the equality of sexes, but instead created for a group to exert it's superiority.
Now feminist groups have thought about such a situation and thus proudly proclaim that by striving for women's superiorty (I mean rights), it balances out the patriarchy. Now one must look at this very statement with some level of scrutiny, a feminist claims feminism is fair. How objectively true is this claim? If a white supremacist or a nazi to tell you their policies were only there to balance the current day situation and make it fair, would you believe them? Of course not, so how does one truly trust what the feminist has to say? How can you trust what I say? You simply cannot, this is the irony of postmodernist thought.
Now lets circle back to the idea where middle class white women are the main focus of feminism. Feminism today is a joke of a movement, if you were to ask a white middle class feminist to protest against islamic/ethnic culture of arranged marriages or treating women as objects, they would simply tell you "I don't feel comfortable commenting on POC spaces, I'd rather not say something insensitive" or "Sorry, I'm not educated in that topic" and just leave it at that.
Ethnic women, you advocating for feminism is advocating for white supremacy. Ask yourselves why are you expected to protest and march for your fellow white feminist, yet she is unwilling to support your cause? Why is it that you expect men to educate themeslves about white feminist issues, yet your closest allies refuse to help you and instead bask in their ignorance?
And it is for that reason feminism will only ever work in the west. The feminism we know today in the west is designed for white women. Ethnic women will never truly be accepted by their white counterparts, their desperation to join the white feminist movement is just another proxy to be closer to whiteness.
And what about young men?
You won't be acknowledged in the feminist movement, most of your issues are going to be blamed on older men (not because it's the fault of older men, but because by that age men finally surpass women), your loneliness, your struggles, your self doubt. None of that will ever be addressed by the feminist movement. The feminist movement will simply give you a non-answer. When young men were made to fight in Ukraine, the feminist movement said they were anti-war and said therefore they didn't support the draft. Why didn't they say they were anti-draft because it's sexist? Why weren't they marching because men were dying? Why did they only march because women were being displaced?
I'll leave you to fill the blanks.
