Apparently they can inject an inert gel into the disks to inflate them. Be injecting into multiple disks you can get a minimum of 1" increase. This is theoretically harmless since your disks inflate and expand every night while you sleep. Then during the day they compress due to gravity.
It's already performed on people who have disk degenerative disease. You just gotta find some quack surgeon willing to perform it on otherwise healthy individuals who just want to be a little taller.
