Have you talked with your orthodontist? How old are you? I got braces between 14 and 15 and it possibly caused my recessed chin. Now im back to the dentist at almost 24 yo cause the previous one didnt bother expanding the palate or caring about my jaw structure to actually have more space for third molars and now they are suggesting me to pull out some teeth to make space.
I’m 16 and I’ve talked with my ortho and I don’t believe I have anything to worry about, my only real problem is my midline gap and a few other small issues. I don’t have any type of crowding, so no teeth should be getting pulled. My ortho says they plan to use braces to correct my smile and fix my gap, which will leave extra space between my k9’s and the lateral incisor because my lateral incisor is small, which they then plan to correct with bonding to make it bigger.

Lots of people on here call thumbpulling cope, but ive seen lots of posts on r/orthotropics that endorse it. Im also going to probably start thumbpulling but ive some other problems to fix near my molars first (already have appointements scheduled). I would probably give it a try and keep having good posture + mewing, at your age you will surely see results if done correctly

Dr Mew himself said it, he also mentioned fixed retainers behind the back of the lower fron teeth. Perhaps it didnt cause it directly, but it will affect mewing and good posture growing up. If your ortho is a retard that leave you with an underdeveloped jaw..
