Forget about computer science or other nerdy degree courses. Undestanding finance is such a huge halo. You understand how company, banks work, monetary and fiscal policy as well. It gives you knowledge how properly invest your money, many workstations await for you, you are considered as businessman who wears elegant suit.

There are many jobs after finanse. Banking is only one of them. I know it is only me but I find economy interesting.

Go to Copenhagen University and attend psych classes >>>

In finance you need a high IQ or good relationship otherwise you will stay in your mom basement with a deficit balance at the end of the month.

I like the idea of a Finance major, but I'm more of a Liberal Arts guy - I'm interested in Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, etc.
Would you recommend?

That shit is only reserved for complete chumps JFL. My business internship is gonna pay me $30/hr and I get a $3k sign on bonus.

big IQ useless too. i've iqmogged during interview and still not appealing because no connections, no "brilliance".

It's only worth it if you hit the networking hard and get decent internships. The school that you go to matters much more too if you want to get into IB or PE in the future. Being at a non target makes it near impossible to get in these fields oot-of-college unless you are literally one of the top students at the university.

It depends on where you live. Psychology can be interesting.

that stuff only possible if you live in anglo countries. this culture is non existant in other places. There is no IB position. PE is relaxed too. Little funds, no big players.

I live in the slums of Tbilisi, Georgia. I doubt our second world lifestyle can provide accomodations for a cushy job like the -ogy trilogy. Is Finance math dependant, or is it just speculation? I really hate math.

i'll try again in 5 months after i'll end this internship. but for now it has been hell. not what i expected with my grades. i see that many other of my colleagues are fucked too. only 2-3 got a decent job after low paid internships.
Look like shit when you start at the bottom.

finance is based on math (mathematical analysis) but it is not hard math tbh. I think most of people is able to understand how limes, derivatives, calculus works and later all you need to know is how to read a graphs :D Finanse is quite broad science but learning about private, state banking, corporate finananse, some accounting appeal to me. In my country there is a lot of jobs in finance and accounting but I do not know how it looks in Geargia.

You will be all right.

The only thing that really matters is the prestige of your university and connections, full stop. And in hedge funds/private equity, us white chads chads work front office going for all client meetings and banquets, while the currycels and ricecels work in the back end as quant cucks sitting 16hrs a day in their cubicles.

I'm not a jack of all trades guy, I may have trouble adjusting with some jobs. I fear I'll be useless in my country.

Then you should consider leaving your country. But I know it requires courage and some people just do not want to leave their own parents and friends. It is always taugh decision to make... You claimed you ae not a jack of all trades but how do you know that? For sure every country needs electrician and it is not ,,dirty job" as many people think. You can become good electrician after some courses.

Yeah and even Bocconi guys are cucked by Italy’s shit wages and the lack of elite hedge funds/PE firms. All the top guys from Bocconi leave for Switzerland/UK/Germany, where they’ll almost get triple the salary of what they will in fucking Italy jfl.

Oh, I know. A good electrician is like a bar of gold here.
I just wish I didn't have retarded interests...

Everything will be fine. You must discern which profession is needed in your country and try to do it on your own for a short time to make sure it is it.

Buiness degrees are crap. if you want to study than study some real hard science like STEM, out of non stem degrees only law is legit, courses where you actuallly learn something concretely.
Business degrees are imaginary mumbo jumbo science, worse than political sciences. There is nothing real to learn there.
Why would you devote years of life to mumbo jumbo course?
Also this whole money printing economy which dosen't produce anything real is a big bubble that will explode.

Nah, Math and Physics mogs — I personally opted for EECS, though. Hoping to crack HFT this upcoming interning season 🤞

Are those jobs you're applying to? How old are you?
Yep — well, for internship. I’m a Rising Junior. Hoping to crack them and few other HFT’s / Prop shops during my interning cycle. Jane Street is my lofty option as they’re notorious for having a high bar for entry, but I expect to crack Citadel and/or 2S. JS interns make $14,583 / mo … shits crazy.

Damn, mogger
What are you majoring in? I'm assuming some T20 college too, though I won't ask which one in specific

Bruh it's really easy in college. Just sit near them, if they seem too serious or into it don't talk much (but just say Hi), otherwise just ask them what they're reading if they're reading a book or make some convo about your work being annoying and lead it into something else

I do accounting degree with some modules in finance I like where I am headed career wise compared to friends in computer science who are in classes with 500 autistic guys and 2 girls

EECS. Yes, T20.

nah it sucks

you just learn models that don't actually work and they teach you basic algebra and calculus like it's the hardest thing in the world

Finance is not for the weak. Most people in Finance barely have any free time.

I TRY SO HARD TO STUDY UNIVERSITY MATHS AND PHYSICS EVERYDAY AND SOME FINANCE LOW IQ MOTHERFUCKER COMES ALONG AND GETS PAID ALOT MORE.

WHAT THE FUCK?! TRY STUDYING PHYSICS YOU LITTLE BITCH.

WHAT KIND OF A WORLD IS THIS?
