i need help, i have been taking finasteride for 1month exactly. So far i have seen no progress ngl. My hair is falling out slightly less than before. Although ive heard that the first phase can sometimes be a shedding phase for the old hair follicles to fall out, dont know if its true but i need help from people who have been on finasteride and seen progress. Should i be worried, it has only been 1 month to be fair.

some people required years to see positive effects, just take the pill and stop thinking about it. there are also no studies that show fin loses effect over the years so no worry, i stopped at 10 months because i didnt see improvements but i regret it

It takes 6 months to a year to see visible results. Sometimes 2 years.
They say you dont even notice thinning until about 50% of your hair has fallen out, so you wont see improvement for many months, either.

In advanced cases (advanced doesnt mean uncommon, aggressive hairless IS common) finasteride doesnt provide much regrowth at all and just stabilizes the hair you have, or drastically slows down the progression of balding.

In extremely aggressive cases a 70% reduction in DHT (finasteride) doesnt work at all and you need dutasteride (90-95% reduction in DHT)

Remember if you are using exogenous testosterone your test & DHT levels are 3-5 natural, so a 70% reduction is just back to normal.

If you are using engineered hormones (anabolic steroids that aren't testosterone) then 5ARI dont work against those.

finasteride isn't fully effective, pair with minoxdil and derma stamp to help regrow that lost hair unc

Other than that, you don’t need any 5ar inhibitors if you’re in puberty and natty unless you have shit genetics and already are NW2-4 at 16.
