Finasteride during a test cycle

I’m 19 and about to start a test cycle at 500 mg/week for 15 weeks. I think I’m already around Norwood 3, but I’ve always styled my hair forward to cover my receding hairline and it’s worked so far.
My biggest concern with starting the cycle is my hair. I’m worried it might get worse, that I’ll start shedding like crazy and end up going bald.
I have androgenetic alopecia, and my dad was already going bald at 21. Do you think finasteride will protect me during the cycle, or at least help me keep what I have? I really don’t want to take that risk.
I already bought 5 mg finasteride and plan to split the pills into quarters and take it daily. Some people say dutasteride is better, but I don’t want to completely nuke my DHT. Plus, I can’t afford it—it’s way too expensive where I live, and I already bought finasteride.
What would you guys do in my situation? Honestly, there’s no point in getting bigger if I lose my hair. I feel kinda screwed and could really use some advice.

If youre a NW3 at 19 you have bad hair genetics bro. Hopping on test WILL only worsen the situation. Would definitely think about finasteride or even dutasteride if youre DHT is not blocked enough.

norwood 3 at 19 is fucking over. you are invisible to women and they can see your bald spot and are instantly turned off. consider saving up for a hair transplant in turkey. dont even bother gymcelling gym theres no gym for your hair follicles
