I started oral finasteride + minoxidil around 6 months ago (thanks @aids) after doing topical Minox for a bit and hating it. (greasy, annoying to apply, hard to get to the follicle, and generally ineffective)

As a result of high DHT (extremely dark neck beard), a high-stress lifestyle, and an objectively poor diet for most of my later teenage years, I was suffering from what I would consider Norwood 2.5 hair loss.

It probably developed from around the time I was 16 and was at it's worst right before I started, at 19.

I had completely lost my temporal peaks. There was a straight line from my sideburn to my recessed hairline. (Image for context, not me)

My hairline had also recessed so much that I would rarely go outside without a hat on, and would grow my hair out super long in the corners so I could cover the skin showing from my big fat balding cranium. (Hairline similar to image below, but worse)

Anyway, to make a long story short, I finally decided to pull the trigger on Minox + Fin after getting over the "if you get off, you'll lose it all" mentality because, if I didn't get on, I'd lose it all anyway.

My temporal peaks have made basically a full recovery, where my hairline has receded is now full of baby hairs growing healthily (I am microneedling as well). My hairline has also come back at least 1cm from the worst point, and is NOTICEABLY improved after only 6 months.

I barely drop any hair now in the shower, or when scratching my head. Everyone who touches my hair comments on how soft and healthy it looks and feels.

I also get compliments on my brows and lashes (thanks to minox for helping the growth rate and density).

Dosage is 1mg Finasteride + 2.5mg Minoxidil every day in the morning.

I would recommend this to absolutely everyone. Get on Minoxidil regardless of whether you're balding or not. Finasteride if you see even the slightest recession. Massive ROI for low cost and risk.

Water thread, but seriously, if you have considered it, and if you think you need it. Do it.

Your hair follicles go dormant when you recede, and if left without treatment, will die around 3 years later.

If you know where to look, you can get this stack for under 50c/day.

Do NOT leave it too late, because if you do, you will never make a recovery without a trip to Turkey. :feelswhy:

@MogsMost ppl are scared of that but usually it's just the scalp minox spreading. facial hair sides are rare af. you're probably htn though.

1mg. Don't start as a teen, you're still developing. DHT is a potent hormone for sexual development.
