Depends. Dut is objectively superior but if you’re not on roids and you’re not balding then fin is a better option.

Fin will block just enough DHT, you don’t need to crush your DHT for no reason if you’re not balding and not on roids.

Side effects are milder.

If you DO get sides then fin half life is shorter than dut, so you can stop using it and it will leave your system quickly.

no they are not. what does that even mean, like your dick is only half hard instead of completly flaccid?

I use dut because im on roids. If i was natty id prob go fin and then move over to dut later if needed. ik theirs a group of people that say ed from 5ars doesnt happen but the amount of anecdotes of people saying it would make me wary so id opt for the milder option first.

finasteride and minoxidil is also the FDA approved treatment

im not the one trying to be a pseudo intellectual on a topic im clueless about
It’s about statistics, people on dut tend to have more side effects.

no they do not, a standard dose of dutasteride has practically the same chance of side effects as a standard dose of finasteride

Gum

Finasteride:
Reduces DHT by 70%
Half-life: 6–8 hours
FDA-approved for hair loss
Considered safer and better tolerated

Dutasteride:
Reduces DHT by >90%
Half-life: 4–5 weeks
Not FDA-approved for hair loss (off-label use)

FINASTERIDE SIDE EFFECTS:
Lower Libido
Erectile dysfunction
Decreased semen volume
rare but can cause Testicle ache
rare but can cause Anxiety / depression
rare but can cause Brain fog

DUTASTERIDE SIDE EFFECTS:

Stronger
Gyno more commonly reported
Longer-lasting effects (due to long half-life)
Harder to “bounce back” after stopping
Can linger in the body for months

I personally prefer Finasteride in firts option amd its more cheaper
And only try DUTA if FINA fails

With finna you still are gonna produce dht

This is absolutely bullshit since it’s about to prevent, you dont need it anymore when “fina fails”, you’ll need hair transplant at that point. What the fuck is the point to assume dht blocker if you still are gonna produce and dht and therefore still lose you hair lmao . Also jfl at the side effects that are the same

Oral Finasteride is a better option for those who’s thinning isn’t awful / and people not on Roid

Oral Dutasteride is a better option if ur Hair loss is pretty advanced and on Roids

Either one works well and backed by scientific evidence!

DHT type II isoenzyme is why male pattern baldness happens. People can maintain for years and years.

Literally everything from what I said in that reply was true except for maybe what I said about the side effect.

Clinical trials show that dut and fin have approximately the same side effects (dut have a bit more, not something that’s significant). But anecdotal evidences show that people on dut reported that it gave them worse side effects than fin.

why dont you explain genius
Dht is a trash hormone and needs to be nuked, duta is superior in all aspects and there’s no reason to use fin and crash only one isoenzyme when you can experience even skin gains by targeting them both

If you search by yourself on reddit and other forums you can see by yourself that nobody has really never reported a single side effect about duta , that it is not a feeling of tiredness. You will not find even a single comment on the face of the earth. And it makes no sense to block only 1 enzyme that produces DHT, what the fuck is the point, if you want to do something, do it well, you don't leave the job half done, while on fina you continue to have hair loss due to DHT, but then what's the point of exposing yourself to these "side effects" in the first place?

Dht is the problem = you block dht you dont block 1/5
What is the point of taking drugs that blocks it and still have it

You said in your BOTB thread that you suggest to run fin if you’re not on roids.
Opinions change. T1 isoenzyme is just present in such an insignificant quantity in bone it won’t make any change in virilization.

Option 1: Start finasteride, stabilize hair loss, unlikely regrowth, hair loss begins again after 5-7 years, start dutasteride, great response, significant regrowth and thickening, zero sides, you will be thinking "Why didn't I just start dutasteride to begin with?"

Option 2: Start dutasteride, great response, maintain for 10-20+ years, full peace of mind.

HairLossTalk forums
PropeciaHelp

You will see that they do report that dut have more potent sides than fin.
Like this for example:

It’s still very effective.
Fin is cheap asf and easier to get, so why spend more money and effort on something that won’t really make a difference.
Again, my main claim is that If you’re not on roids, or you’re not already balding and you got good hair genetics then
Choosing between dut and fin won’t really matter (since they both help), but since fin is cheaper, just use it, you can take dut, it will be just a bit more expensive and hard to source. So use fin unless your case is very severe.

while on fina you continue to have hair loss due to DHT,
Not if you have good genetics, you’re not roiding and you’re not already way behind and balding already- in that case, just use dut.
Fin has clinical evidence of efficacy in over 90% of early-stage AGA cases.

You won’t continue to bald while on fin if you are not roiding, have decent+ genetics for hair, and if you’re not already balding, and if you do, worst case scenario- just switch to dut….

You guys over complicated it for no reason.

let me know your thoughts

Dude cmon this guy is clearly mistaking correlation for cause, he says duta caused him depression and no more sexual libido 😂 which is a joke since on dht you have MORE TESTOSTERONE than you normally do since you don't convert it to dht

Im talking about REAL side effect such as stroke - gymneco etc not some depressed low libido guy
