Briefing:
Ok so i'm thinking about more out of the box ways to conduct OSINT investigations because I want to do this as a career one day. I have been thinking for the past hour about this new idea I have and I want to share it here to get feedback from people interested in this hobby:
theoretical vulernability #1 - Google Location:
This is very niche and i've just thought about it, but theoretically you could get a location based off of someone typing something specific in google without a VPN. Bascially how it works is someone types something into google, then you go to google trends, look up that search term, select "past hour" and select "whole world" in sort by location, then theoretcially it should give you access. Now this is only theoretical and I have yet to test it out + refine, but an interesting find at least.
Argument against this working:
Search volume: Google doesn't show search volume below a certain number. So if the individual typed a random phrase, it wouldn't show up. To combat this, the individual would have to type something with medium search volume, and you would have to filter out only the past hour.
Debrief:
If your interested in testing, lmk the results cause im too lazy also if this works please don't use it for harm, I just wanted to put it out there to discover new ways of ethical OSINT.
