Hey, I’m 17 years old and I want to do a cycle over the winter

I’ve been doing research and gained a surface level on roids and want to take anavar

Is there anything I should take along side anavar and what are some common side effects

I’m not to certain about pinning and I’ve heard oral isn’t a bad choice

If you can share any thoughts it would really be appreciated, I’m around 150lbs 6’1 and want a deeper knowledge on this drug

Might've misinterpreted your initial message, if you meant generally, yes, you pin testosterone.

A normal dosage for your first cycle would be around 300mg/week. You'd never really dose at a longer interval than a week. Pinning more frequently will help with maintaining more consistent testosterone levels but is obviously more of an inconvenience/might be unideal if you aren't super comfortable pinning each day.

Aromatase Inhibitors (AI - such as Aromasin) are, in layman's terms, used to inhibit the conversion of testosterone to estrogen, as when you pin testosterone, your body is going to convert relatively more testosterone (now that you have more available) to estrogen. Aromasin as well as other AI would essentially make your body convert relatively less testosterone to estrogen to maintain a lower estrogen level than you would otherwise, which helps combat certain side effects from testosterone like gynecomastia (man boobs).

You would need PCT (Post Cycle Therapy) to ensure your natural testosterone levels return to an acceptable level after testosterone, since it's an AAS (androgenic-anabolic steroid), your natural testosterone production will plummet when you pin. Basically, your nuts say 'hey we have so much testosterone we dont need to produce anymore!' which can mean your testosterone levels might drop to double digits after a cycle.

I am not super familiar with PCT because I've never used any PED that suppressed my natural hormones, so I've not needed it, but IIRC, enclomifene is used to help return your body's natural testosterone production to normal. I'm unfamiliar as to whether you start running enclomifene during your cycle (towards the end?), or after, so DYOR on that, as well as testosterone and PEDs in general.

To clarify, you would need PCT taking oral steroids as well, so either way, you need to be familiar with how to make sure you don't destroy your endocrine system taking steroids at such a young age.

Benefits are self-explanatory, increased muscle mass, libido, recovery times are quicker, more energy, etc.
As aforementioned, some sides (when you don't take it correctly) include the early closure of growth plates (due to higher levels of estrogen), the suppression of your natural hormones, among others.

Your dosage will influence how extreme these benefits/sides are, but it will be individual to you, so listen to your body accordingly.

I wouldn't recommend doing a cycle at your age, especially with how unfamiliar you seem as to the concept of steroids. Either way, be careful and good luck if you choose to take something.
