Hmm.. fasting can also be done as part of ascetic practice or just for general health purposes, not just for weight loss.

i would like to make it clear that fasting as part of Islamic ascetic tradition is nothing more than a way to fast for ~12 hours and eat like a slobbering indulgent pig afterward! This is why most muslimcels by the end of Ramadan are heavier piggies than at the onset. Very sad indeed
