First night using a myobrace

So my myobrace (A1 large) came in yesturday, so I finally tried it out during my sleep. First impressions are good, you can feel the strain on your teeth trying to form that perfect Roman arch as well as the jaw being forced in a more forward position. Sometime mid-sleep I spit it out for some reason, because of painful pressure on gums and cheeks. I now have some soft-tissue inflamation, waiting for it to heal to resume craniofacial treatment.

What does a myobrace do exactly? Could I benefit from it even though I have a good maxilla and nice teeth?

My lower jaw seems to sit more forward after wearing it for awhile.

My teeth hurt like a bitch though because they're somewhat crooked.
