First time using niacinamide

It is my first day of using niacinamide,i used it at 10 pm and went to sleep after a few minutes i feel itching on my right side of the face i gently rinse it off i think it got worse,i think i did a mistake my rinsing it. People say that it should be 0% of itchiness after using it,that's why i got scared.What will happen? Will it make my face horrible?
