Just did my first wrestling class at a mma gym 40 minutes away from my house. It was hands down one of the most fun yet humbling things I’ve ever done.
We started off stretching and shit like that and then got into “hand fighting” which was by far the easiest part of the class cause it is low intensity and I was still fresh.
Then we got into our first actual lesson which was how to effectively use the “meat hook” or something like that name. It was absolutely brutal. I practiced with a 200lb guy who is 34-9 for his school and he absolutely shit on me. I was so gassed by the end of it I literally couldn’t see out of my peripheral.
And to end off the day we did 4 rounds of live wrestling (no clue how long the rounds were) where I got pinned by everyone I went against in probably 30 seconds. I even went against a kid who was probably 13 yo and 40 lbs lighter than me and he pinned me in 20 seconds via a cradle. Absolutely brutal.
Regardless it was really fun and I’m definitely going back Monday.
TLDR: Wrestlemaxxing is a lot of fun.
