I want to fix my gonial angle and the only way to do that is by lengthening my ramus . What are the options here ?

Obviously I am talking about hardmaxxing i am 16 rn

The default answer would be jaw angle implants, but i wonder if the osteotomy bossman suggested is approved by the people here

the osteotomy bossman suggested
It's just a segmented chin wing, isn't it ? If so, I don't know why @bossman didn't call it by its name. A regular chin wing can lengthen the ramus and modify the gonial angle. Search "chin wing", and you'll find enough documentation.

I feel as if this isn't a good way to address lowering the ramus/decreasing the gonial angle

For alot of people who are downgrown that seek this treatment the wing cut would need to be spaced out alot in order to achieve the ideal and with that comes instability - in theory it reminds me of a maxillary downgraft which requires autologous bone grafts/Hydroxyapatite blocks and rigid plates to affix it. Even then there are many studies that show relapse/non union - this technique is done by very skilled surgeons to have successful union and results. It's just too invasive and causes problems and since most surgeons aren't doing it or practising it I doubt it would be possible

I think it could be used to slightly increase the ramus length and lower the gonial angle (but to what visible effect? Is it even worth it at that point to go through an invasive osteotomy just for that?) but won't be able to replace jaw angle implants. I have never seen a chin wing be able to produce posterior height it's mainly used front profile jaw width

Vertical jaw angle implants.
Thats probably the easiest permanent result hardmaxx for ramus tbh but I am not sure if the surgery is easy to get messed up or if its really dangerous

So you think implants is the way to go?
