I have struggled with facial redness for several years and have only recently found a correct protocol that can work for anybody.
Why Colouring is massively important.
- Good, even colouring is a health indicator strongly tied to attractiveness
- Less blotchiness leads to a smoother face.
- Gives better contrast with hair and eye colour
What I had:
Results:
As you can see I totally eviscerated my redness.
What I did:
1. Gycolic and Azeliac Acid
Gycolic acid is a very good exfoliator It Strips away dead skin cells improving skin texture and can help with blemishes. Also has some skin brightening benefits
Azeliac Acid works wonders. redness by acting as an anti-inflammatory agents reducing oxidative stress. It also minimises vascular reactivity—preventing blood vessels from widening—and acts as an antioxidant to soothe sensitivities therefore reducing facial redness as a whole.
2. Urea Cream
Urea Cream brings moisture into the skin barrier. It is very effective at treating keratosis pilaris which causes red blotches on the face and so called ‘chicken skin’. Keratosis pilaris is often mistook for Rosacea. As urea cream is not directly advised to be administered to the face, I use a low concentration cream and a small amount to prevent any unwanted irritation.
3. Sun cream
Not much needed to be said. Make sure you’re using spf50 and blocks UV-A and UV-B. Tinted Sun creams can also hide facial redness.
4. Gradual Tanner
This is more of a masking method. Using a gradual tanner lotion has been my preferred method to tan rather then spray tan, tanning drops and fake tan. It’s far less noticeable so less chance of getting caught. Can easily apply after period of sunny weather to decrease your odds of getting caught. Make sure to wash hands after use cause this shit is hard to get out. Massage and make sure to distribute evenly across face and neck. The only issue with gradual tanner I’ve faced is the tendency of it to not stick to eye and cheek areas as well as other regions leading to an uneven look…
4. BB cream
BB Cream is excellent for hiding facial redness. My method is to apply to lower regions of cheeks and jaw leaving zygomatic region clean which in my experiences has left me with a nice healthy blush. Make sure to apply evenly and rub in fully.
5. GREEN PRIMER.
This is the absolute holy grail. I apply this every morning and it eviscerates any redness in seconds. I recommend:
I buy this of Amazon for about $7. This will work for anyone no matter their condition. Make sure - as for any ‘makeup’ product - to not be stupid with it. Apply and distribute evenly. Less is more with this, too much can give you an unappealing green tint especially in regions of your face that are not as naturally as red as the places you are trying to target.
Low effort but very effective guide.
For anyone with rosacea, just go to a dermatologist and get a prescription rather then spending money on products that won’t do shit.
Then again, BB Cream, Gradual tanner and Green tinted Primer will help cover up redness no matter the condition but is not in anyway a permanent fix.
TLDR: Buy Green Primer
