this is what chatgpt said

Yeah, I made that way more complicated than it needed to be 😭
The main thing is:
You don't want to cut the eyebrow itself into a new shape. You want to keep the whole thick part and only shorten hairs that stick noticeably outside of it.
For your eyebrows:
  1. Brush the brow hairs straight UP.
  2. Look at the hairs that extend way above the main eyebrow.
  3. Only cut the tiny tips of those hairs so they reach roughly the top edge of the main brow.
  4. Brush them back normally.
  5. Don't cut the bottom edge of the actual eyebrow and don't tweeze those hairs out.
  6. Leave the areas you're trying to make thicker completely alone so they can grow in.
So think of it like giving the existing hairs a haircut, not drawing a new eyebrow shape.
If you want, I can also mark just the exact tiny sections on your original photo where I'd trim, without all the extra lines/labels.

so that will ultimately fix my rounded eyebrows and make them less rounded and more masculine

It can make them look a little straighter and more defined, but I wouldn't say trimming alone will permanently “fix” a naturally rounded eyebrow shape.
For your goal:
  • Let them grow fuller first.
  • Trim only the long hairs that stick noticeably above the main brow.
  • Don't thin out the main body of the brow.
  • Don't remove hairs from the lower edge just to force a straighter shape.
  • Brush them up and slightly outward after trimming.
That can give you a fuller, cleaner, less curved-looking appearance, but your underlying eyebrow growth pattern will still be the same.
Also, “masculine” brows aren't one exact shape—fullness and a natural shape matter more than trying to force a particular arch.

how do I prevent my underlying eyebrow growth

If you mean prevent your eyebrows from growing back into their naturally rounded pattern, you can't reliably change the underlying growth direction or shape at home. Your follicles determine that pattern.
What you can do is maintain a straighter-looking appearance:
  • Let them grow fully for a few weeks first.
  • Brush the hairs up and outward daily.
  • Trim only the tips of hairs that stick out, rather than removing the hairs from the root.
  • Re-trim when those hairs get long again—think of it like a regular haircut.
  • Avoid repeatedly shaving or plucking the main brow line just to force a shape.
So the result can be maintained over time, but you'd need occasional trimming rather than permanently changing how the follicles grow.

ok thank you
👍

You're welcome! Just take a little off at a time when you trim—you can always trim more later.
