flat vs recessed maxilla

is there any difference? I know both are bad things but I see people say East Asians have naturally flat maxillas. Just wondering if those two are the same thing or slightly different

yes they are the same thing. recessed maxilla is just the medical term for the bone position, and flat is the appearance. in other words, a recessed maxilla will look flat
