I want to preface this before I continue. I am a 13 year old LM newbie who knows practically nothing about LM. But I have picked up a few things from social media, traveling, school, etcetera that I would like to spread. So feel free to correct me.

Whether you are getting into LM or experienced with it, there's always room to grow in your looks. However, what I've seen is a lot of people (usually newbie's like me) with an extremely recessed jaw or acne that looks like it hurts mewing or eye pulling waiting to ascend when in reality the most efficient way to ascend as much as possible is to first things first focus on your huge flaws.

In real life, people see your flaws faster than they see your qualities. This is for a variety of reasons that don't need to be proven by studies but simply by analyzing society throughout your life. However, a huge factor into this is the human brain's negativity bias- which is a well studied psychological tendency to pay more attention to negatives rather than positives. Humans developed this negativity bias due to way back when. If your ancestors ignored a rustle in the bush that could be a predator, the cost could be fatal. If they were to ignore something positive like a cute flower, the consequences would be not even comparable. The negativity bias also has other reasons of existing such as social consequences and shortcuts which helps the brain be as efficient at learning and adapting as it is.

I believe that a face with normal features gets a huge bonus when it has no huge flaws. There is some proven truth to this. Everybody has heard of the Halo effect- people refer to it as other people seeing an attractive person and assuming they are a great person. This is what the Halo effect is but the Halo effect is also when people see your looks and who you are as a person better because of an positive outlying feature on your face. If a decent rounded HLTN has bright blue beautiful eyes with good eye area, people will regard him as handsome because of the Halo effect. However, there is an opposite of the Halo effect called the Horn effect. This is when people see you as less of a person due to your bad looks or in the case I'm presenting, see you as less attractive due to a negative outlying feature on your face.

Now this does not under any circumstances mean to stop doing your other softmaxxes, or even hardmaxxes. This just means that your biggest flaw is your biggest priority.

I'm not very lean right now with a noticeable amount of face fat. I have double lids. My eye area is nothing special. my eyebrows look weird. But I also have an extreme overbite, and that comes first. Focus on your flaws. You need to have a face to be able to improve it.
