I am gonna do rhinoplasty soon probably, and i might need to shave the radix bone down a bit. Have any of you shaved bone down significantly during rhino?

I know this isnt really a smart thing, but i dont see any other choice in my case as the bone is clearly too high, and yes i already got bimax. And my radix dont have a clear step off between glabella and radix

Is this a bad idea ? @RealSurgerymax i have seen you really like this, i guess you would recommend a implant at the glabella

Keep in mind the radix will impact perceived IPD so don't go to crazy on it. I am having rhino soon as well but all im doing is straightening my nose and deprojecting tip and narrowing nostrils

In what way, i got slightly too close set at the moment, but yes my radix is too wide, but i am not sure i will be aboe to make it much more narrow, or the surgeons. I am also a bit scared of the open roof deformity

Well if you're narrowing your radix then it'll appear closer set

Damn thats kinda brutal, i thought you make it wider if you got wider set eyes, i heard it from some other dude in lookmax Community and its makes more sense

only the IPD has an affect on the appearance of your eyes.
Perceived IPD. the radix has very important role in how the IPD is perceived. ofc actual IPD %'s arent changed

Widening it does make perceived IPD wider for sure

is it just for deviation or your shit crooked after bimax
Its too straighten the bridge, because i got left with some cartiallge show on the bridge last rhino, and also to straighten septum because it became slight deviated during bimax. And also hopefully to make remove some scar tissue from the last one

rhino mistake number one. You want projection not shaving. Ask him to work with cartilage and bone grafts so on the nose tissue is added not removed.

I Know , but sometimes you actually have too much projection in the nose bridge.

Rlly bro? Thought a wider or more projected radix would make it look closer together ?
Considering you have a bigger piece of bone between your eyes

Could you share some examples ?

Yes ofc, and its a lot higher chance of getting cartillage bumps and worse integration overall. Also takes 10x skill for the surgeon and usually is a lot more expensive

hmm good to know since i be getting that after bimax. Just go for shave no? You will get more of a pretty boy nose instead of robust masculine one i suppose

yea i mean a smaller nose is almost allways better, but you dont want to shave down radix to much. You also want a surgeon who can perform bone shaving without open nose deformity. And you generally dont want to deproject the tip to much. Making the nasal wings shorter is good way to make both make the nose less wide and make it seem more projected from the side. Overall you want to be conservative. But building a total new nose projection except if its just for the bridge slightly is just to put yourself in a risky situation
