People think Messi just kicks a ball, but there’s actually a study by Japanese scientists called “Can Messi’s Brain Slow Time?” It was about how Messi’s brain can send nervous signals to his legs and the rest of his body faster than even top-level players like Neymar.
For example, Neymar is an insanely talented footballer and can touch the ball twice in almost a second. Messi can sometimes touch it 3–4 times in the same amount of time. That’s why he can make a single move or body feint so quickly that even when defenders know what he’s going to do, they still can’t stop him.
It’s almost like Messi is seeing what they’re going to do a fraction of a second before it happens, like he’s seeing their “future” 0.1 ms ahead.
