For school I'm refusing to read this book on apartheid

Because half of the book is about how the author's mom is black while his dad is white during the "racist South African government"

And I can't explain to the teacher it's because of how much the situation arouses me and how much my response dumbfounds me

I always hated it when racism was a topic at school. Being white racism does not affect me at all and I give zero fucks about it so why would you waste my time with it? It is like talking about vaccination. Vaccination does not benefit me as I am not >70 and I give zero fucks about old folks dying so leave me the fuck alone with the vaccination. If you want my attention tell me something that benefits ME. Like a way to make tons of cash. But information on how to make the life of other people better is 0% relevant to me.
