I’m a 15 year old, 5’11, 59,7kg

I mainly do basketball 4 times a week+Strength training 5 times a week.

I think I need some more kg but idk how many, any recommendations?

if u want hypertrophy quit jestering with basketball and actually train for hypertrophy

For looksmaxing the important part is being lean (as much as is reasonable given your circumstances such as age, sex, etc), your exact weight isn't as important as your body composition. People will tell you to shoot for a specific bf% like 12%bf but that's not really important to know exactly for practical purposes. Either you're happy with how lean you are, or you aren't. If you can get down to a place were you can start seeing some abs in the mirror then that's probably great. If you want to gain weight/get a frame then building muscle is what you should be doing.

Strength training 5 times a week.

Building muscle is not the same as building strength. If you want to make a muscle larger you need to train it to failure often, so many sets with many reps. This is opposed to building strength which focuses on lower total training volume, that is to say a very high intensity were you fail after like 3 reps.

ur 15 just keep eating dont worry about being lean and bs u dont need to care yet build ur base first eat till ur like 180-200 u should grow taller hopefully so maybe even more and idk what this science fucker is on about above me it doesnt really matter just lift heavy and train till failure watch trained by jp and u will get some idea of how to workout high reps low reps heavy or not both work dont over complicate it

id also block aromatase till ur like 21 hop on ai's estrogen is kinda what signals majority of functions to stop so could be benefical for height and "pe" idk if ur on gear yet but take things slow do research when i was ur age thats all i did for 3 years and hopped on a month before turning 18 i wish i took stuff a little bit sooner nothing major no "roids" but blocking ai's and maybe using hgh could be useful if u care about basketball much thats what i would of done at ur age just cause why not

180-200 lbs not kg

You are very scrawny. Aim to gain 1-2lbs/month for 2 years.
I can say I’m “lean” but I’m just how u said scrawny, I’ve started (a month ago) to gain about a kg a month aprox to bulk a little

That's good. Having abs/lean physique at your weight is just going to mentally block you from gaining weight. You are at the prime age to start training, within a few years you can easily transform your physique. Just take it slow and steady and make sure to eat your protein.

Sorry, I'm gonna be a science fucker again lol. He conflated strength with muscle mass, which is a really important distinction. People do heavy singles and doubles for months because it's fun and they get stronger quickly, but then wonder why they aren't actually putting on muscle, strength training is not hypertrophy training.

People keep telling me that it's bad for height growth to be lean during adolescence, but I've yet to see any convincing evidence for that. In fact, I know for a fact that higher BMI before puberty is inversely related to pubertal growth. It accelerates the onset of puberty, but it also closes the growth window earlier. There's even data suggesting that the negative effects of high BMI extend into adolescence as well by reducing pubertal height gain https://www.nature.com/articles/pr2016253. The authors note that even though there was no statistical difference in final height with regards to high and low BMI during childhood, if the mechanism of fat which makes puberty end early also applies to teenage years, then fat kids who are fat during teenage will end up shorter than average.

My pet theory is that adiposity affects this through estrogenic pathways. Estrogen is one of the primary signals that closes growth plates, which is exactly why taking AIs can prolong the linear growth spurt during puberty, as you mentioned. If you don't carry around extra adipose tissue, you're not generating as much estrogen locally. For what it's worth, the tallest kids in my high school were usually scrawny rather than bulky or overweight, which is consistent with this idea.

true in some regard but it shouldnt be a big deal doubt hes training to become some meat head powerlifter doesnt really have much appeal from the opposing gender but its "based" training is simple i try not to over complicate it the basics work i do a little bit of both bc i find it fun u just cant expect to make "optimal" results doing like 1rm every session i mean u could u just have to actually do working sets after that so idk its all so mundane to me but hes "new" so i get why ur explaining that and it makes some sense to me after seeing like 17 year olds bench 585 and they dont even look like they lift somehow just shitty training regimens for pure strength u would think muscle mass would come eventually but i guess not so yeah i get were ur coming from but to me keeping it simple is always more ideal dorian yates training videos/watching jordan peters is mainly what i like to copy i just enjoy that sort of training more and it works so just depends on ur goals and stuff im trying to bench 585 stuck at 405 rn due to injuries but i should have it for reps soon almost healed i think

and onto the estrogen pathway/lean part he shouldnt be "fat" by any means but being super lean at that age isnt ideal either he needs nutrients i think he could manage gaining that amount of size while having visable abs throughout the entire process maybe if he does things properly my perception of being lean is a little skewed im thinking like 8-6% bodyfat when u say that he shouldnt go above like 15-20 being generous with the high end but yeah and for some reason the skinny kids during my highschool era never really grew/ it was obvious they stunted their development and the most disgusting looking fat estrogen builds possible would height mog to oblivion so it was confusing who knows u just cant be like some girl with an eating disorder or being on the other end of that spectrum

like that braindead tale we read as kids "Papa Bear's bed (too hard) and Mama Bear's bed (too soft), she finds Baby Bear's bed to be "just right," i feel like some healthy medium works best

sorry for wall of text being lean isnt bad but he shouldnt worry about keeping visable abs all year around at that age just get a little bit of fluff nothing crazy still have like almost visable abs dont lose sight of those but yeah u need to eat in a surplus reach 180 at least before ur 17-18 and dont get fat stay somewhat lean while doing it for majority of the process and dope user v_v loved using dumb emojicons as some kid and my bad if typos not checking
