Cioran postponed his suicide with every piece of writing he created. Until that old fart could no longer think clearly and developed Alzheimer’s. By the time he was ready to kill himself, he forgot he ever wanted to kill himself and forgot everything he had ever written. Then one day just died of Alzheimer’s.
In a way, he became the very philosophy he preached.
But even if he hadn’t gotten Alzheimer’s, he wouldn’t have done it because he saw it as meaningless. Killing oneself is always an act done too late, because the tragedy of birth already happened. Now you’re just blowing your shitskin brains out for no reason — the damage was already done.
Anyway, off to drink another shot
