Thing is I kind of missed how I looked before even highschool I want to ascend to have the kind of attention I use to get when I was in middle school

The concept of a middle school is pretty interesting to me. In the Netherlands, we don’t have that. We just have elementary schools, high schools and then finally college/university. From 1st grade until 6th grade, we are in elementary school. Then we go to high school from 7th grade until 12th grade (though we have different levels of education, 12th grade is for the smarty pants, the “dumb” kids go to school until 10th grade and those in-between go to school until 11th grade). I remember when I went to high school as a freshman, the older students looked like grownups but now that I’m 30, even 18 year olds look like kids to me. Not sure if they actually looked older back then, or if my perception has changed.

One of my teachers is American, they’re from New York, and they told me that last year, they had American students at my university. These students were absolutely flabbergasted by how the university was educating first year students, because they said the things they teach in Dutch universities in their first year is what American universities only start teaching in the final year. That apparently opened my university’s eyes and now the curriculum is somewhat easier than it was last year.

Looks like I joined at the right time.

We don’t do scholarships. Education is very affordable here. Education is relatively cheap. For example, you only need to pay €8,000 to get your bachelor’s in a four-year program. And you pay in terms, so it’s like €260/month. You can get student loans, so even if you’re broke, you can still get money. You’ll get more than you actually need, so you can actually save some if you’re smart with your money. And then once you finish your studies, you get 30 years to pay it all off. You don’t need that much time anyway. So, it’s very flexible. If you manage to finish your studies within 10 years from the moment you first started, the loan becomes a gift and you don’t need to pay anything back.
