Exactly, not once have I saw an arab and ever thought they were southern European unless they looked super lightskin or basically white passing like the Assad familyI know, he created this schizophrenic theory called "swarth belt" where he has southern europe, mena and curry countries all together.
The overlap between curries and even the darkest mena like saudis is also minimal, so is the overlap between the lightest people in mena like turks/lebanese/palestinians with the darkest people in europe like italians, is also minimal.

but on average, you can tell there is a difference between the two


Thank you for this reasonable take, I was beginning to be concerned that people genuinely think Southern Europeans were non white and that Indians of all people could pass as Southern Europeans.I have never met a single person from india who looked remotely southern european
