I have heard a lot of talk about long partials and some good evidence suggesting its efficiency. I have also seen some data to suggest that the smith machine can produce similar if not better muscle gains than free weight versions, such as the smith incline bench press. It is also easier to do long partials on the smith machine, as you don't need a spotter.

I personally have no issues at all building muscle with the way I am training at the moment (fairly good genetics), however, I would love to try a new way of exercising to test its efficiency.

Anyone have any experience with such a way of training? Long partials and more machine/stability focused training. I have usually focused very much on proper form, full RoM and pausing at the bottom when I bench.

Weight is weight. Your muscles don't know the difference. Just go failure with the max weight you can hit 4-5 reps in immaculate form and then do 1-2 cheat reps or get someone to help you. Repeat this for 4 sets for each muscle group. You are good to go.
