Normies are fucking retarded and do nothing useful with their freedoms. There is nothing stopping an authoritarian government or corporation that doesn't give it's people much liberty from innovating and building great monuments of art. In fact consider that arguably one of the most artistic periods in western history happened centuries before modern freedoms existed where as today popular culture is complete fucking rubbish.

Even things like technological innovation can happen just fine under government or oligarchy. Don't believe the hype about "muh private innovation" from capitalcels. The soviet union was much more technologically advanced than people give it credit for despite it's economy being mediocre overall, and they were the ultimate example of people not being free.
