"The French website "Orient 21" published an investigation into the complaints of sectors of Israelis and their fear of the unknown due to the war on Gaza , noting the increasing demand for applications for Western passports.
The investigation - which was published on Monday - included the testimonies of many Israelis, some of whom had recently immigrated to Israel, as they spoke of their shock at the state of tension and fear, and said that they were determined to return to where they came from
In this context, the website quoted a senior European diplomat - who requested that his name not be published - that requests by Israelis to Western consulates to obtain foreign passports have increased five times what they were in this period last year.
The website indicated that about 5 million Israelis already have a second passport, i.e. nearly half of the population."
