This is something I've noticed in people, where they're outcasts and basically "want friends". They get adopted by some extroverted social circle. But it's just a public display. It's just normies taking pity on them. And these normies usually lose interest in these people...
Several reasons. These people have spent their formative years alone and don't know how to interact with people. They will come across as gloomy or boring, or creepy or weird.
The truth is friend groups and romantic partners are supposed to happen through the natural course of life. You are drawn to your own tribe, based on interests and personality.
That's all there is to it.
