From a primitive standpoint makes u accepted into the community and allows u to reap benefits of being in said community. If caveman goes around killing people he gets exiled and has to fend for himself all alone, if he gives up the freedom of killing and doing bad, he gets accepted into caveman group and living becomes easier as he doesn’t have to do all the hunting/fishing/defending himself.

Morals from an atheistic standpoint is completely self serving anything more is moral fagging.
For example no murdering other people because that would open up to you being murdered and so in a self perseveration standpoint it makes sense to outlaw it.
