Shorter men use less energy - therefore more likely to survive famines, shorter men have less back issues, heart issues, less chance of caner and generally speaking they have a much greater chance of survival. Taller men only have the advantages in the sense that because they're taller they weight more so therefore have an advantage in fights as well as tall height being a sign of good nutrition.

Yet tall height is selected for? This makes sense in our current environment since we aren't undergoing any famines or hard times, generally speaking nature has a way of making things equal before too many tall people meant more food consumed which meant famines -> lowering the height and equalising shit again. Obviously this doesn't happen anymore.

Thing is, the most brual thing. If a short man knows MMA or how to fight, then from an evolutionary viewpoint, tall men have 0 advantages over them. Apart from being more attractive to women JFL.

manlet cope. if that were true, height wouldn't be increasing, it'd be decreasing every generation.

Is height really increasing? How tall is the average person today vs 2000 years ago?

look at the trends from 150 years ago, height has been on the rise for quite some time now

Either make an intelligent argument or leave the thread. Your height must be a compensation for your low iq

I read that people in roman times were taller than in medieval times
Varies from time to time it seems(related to nutrition probably)

Using skeleton evidence from Europe, the team found that average height decreased from 68.27 inches in the Middles Ages to a low of 65.75 inches in the 1600s and 1700s.

what is this copium. Dn rd

nutrition plays a big role, not to be rude but do you understand the equilibrium thing I was talking about?

Because we now live in an era of prosperity, food is cheap and plentiful; however in the near future when the natural resources will be depleted, most arable land degraded and pollution will destroy most of the wildlife, etc., things could change drastically - the price of food will skyrocket, famines will become widespread, people will battle for resources, etc., and the shorter guys will actually have a higher chance of survival...

You think a smaller MMA fighter would have a chance against a battle tested neanderthal or cro-magnon caveman?

0 advantages? As if tall men can’t fight? Just LOL. Tall men know how to fight too.

No, height is not increasing on a biological level, but the average is higher because of better nutrition. If humans from 2000 years ago ate today's food, they'd be just as tall

In an evolutionary standpoint cancer ,heart issue and back issues dont matter because people get them when they are old and old people dont breed .

And certian enverioment short height might be benefical and other tall height might be
