I will do literally anything not to work. So here's my tentative plan, I will buy a few bare acres and plop down one of those container homes, this shouldn't cost me too much, maybe less than 100k. I will pay everything upfront so I don't have any loans. I'll either live in my van or at my parent's to accrue enough savings to do it. I will never rent in my life.

i've been thinking of something similar, unless you live near large cities you can do this for less than 20k, the container home thing is a millenial meme and quite expensive, it's much cheaper to haul/have hauled an old camper or new shed. For 100k can you have an actual good house with utilities, self sustaining water, etc assuming your job is online and you are cool with driving 40 minutes to wallmart

how do you acquire the 100k in the first place, id also like to do something like this.
 
is this allowed by zoning laws in the US?

Completely impossible in the UK, any land with “planning permission” will be worth £100k+ for a postage stamp.
