That's called selling out and yeah someone's always going to sell out but that doesn't make it any more justifiable

There are ways to combat this. In certain communities individuals who sell out could be banned for example. That doesn't stop them from doing it but it at least creates some consequence to make people pause and consider.

Greek culture's focus on aesthetics is abnormal historically it's why they are so interesting

Especially in America gym culture had about 3 resurgences to bring it to where it is now

Pretty much no one was going to the gym seriously pre 1980's. It's popularity increased massively with dudes like Arnold and Lou Ferrigno. Still it wasn't super common by any means but more people picked up the hobby. Then it became popular again mid 2000's with more media attention on ripped celebrities and magazines like Men's Health showing roided up Meatheads on every cover but still wasn't super popular and the goals in the gym were far more varied. My dad was obsessive about the gym his whole life and growing up in the mid 2000's he was like the only adult I knew who actually took lifting weights seriously. Nowadays going to the gym is standard just to have a chance and people are explicitly going so they can improve their physique and mog more. This is a completely novel phenomenon.

There is a measurable increase in the standard when things gain popularity and certain people and events can speed up the process. Guys like Clav who are so desperate for social validation that they are willing to spill the beans to every normie they meet is an example of that phenomenon. He, for personal reasons, is strongly incentivized to make a spectacle out of himself and his method of doing that is disseminating BP concepts to normies. As a result he is introducing obscure relatively unknown ideologies to average people who would have never in a million years stumbled unto the information themselves.

Like genuinely there's no reality where I should be opening TikTok to see random foids comment about .is and ascending under some BP edit, especially not when a year ago women didn't even know what a BP was
